Unpopular opinion time
I don’t give a rat’s arse about Glee.
My dash is constantly full of stuff about Glee which usually involves 29475673832856348378739473 gifs of x character’s face. Great.
I’m considering unfollowing queersecrets because it’s essentially becoming Glee-secrets and I don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. Yes, I’ve gotten through lots of deeply offensive secrets without hitting the unfollow button, but I don’t know if I can handle one more fucking secret that makes reference to Glee.
If you follow me and are a Glee fan, I’m not trying to hate on your favourite tv show, but the Glee hysteria is really becoming tiresome for everyone else. I understand why some queer people (particularly gay/lesbian cis people, mostly teens from the USA) see Glee as being such a big deal, but frankly I’m getting so annoyed with the fixation tumblr has with it that I’m starting to despise it. Also, it hasn’t exactly been flawless in it’s portrayal of queer people, since it’s included all kinds of questionable shit from cissexism to biphobia. I just think people should stop acting like it’s the most amazingly perfect and wonderful show of all time.

Glee definitely isn’t a good portrayal of gay characters. And even the base show itself is rife with faults. But Glee does have gay characters. Plural! Which is still sort of “Wow!” here. Anyway, even as a fan of Glee, I get your frustration.
